Rachel Hawkins, Louis Simpson, Liam Menzies, Kaylee Dunlop and Laura Mancini successfully completed a 5.1 mile sponsored walk to raise awareness for the Scottish Epilepsy Initiative. This was a collaboration with other South Ayrshire Secondary pupils. The Scottish Epilepsy Initiative’s aim is to redress the balance with regards to the needs of young people with epilepsy as they feel that their medical and emotional requirements are not always effectively met. The initiative strives to improve the lives of young people with epilepsy by helping them to overcome feelings of isolation and stimulating increased interaction with their peers.
Our pupils have not only raised the profile of this important charity, but also helped to raise much needed funds. Well done to everyone who was involved.
Jack Cassidy of S1 completed a 50 mile cycle on Sunday 9th September for Pedal for Scotland. Well done to Jack on this brilliant achievement! He is hoping to step it up a gear for next year’s race by doing the 100 mile cycle!!
Parents are reminded that the S1 Pantomime trip is scheduled to take place on the 12th of December. The English Department asks that payment be made by the 1st of October. This promises to be an enjoyable and valuable event for our new S1.
