Queen Margaret Academy was honoured today when one of our pupils brought the Olympic Torch to school.
Conor McAdam, an S3 pupil, had carried the flame on part of the relay through Ayr Town Centre on its way to London. He had been awarded the prestigious honour due to his determination and commitment to sport. He represents Scotland at table tennis and is 15th in Britain for his class. He has competed in the British Disability Championships, playing against individuals from the other home nations. At the Championships he competed very well, winning two bronze medals in the process.
We are very proud of him and grateful to him for sharing his experience with us.
